Make a Windchime
Listen to the sounds of the wind with this wonderful upcycled windchime!
What You Will Need…
- A paper cup (or plastic cup, tin can or plastic bottle)
- String (or yarn/fishing line)
- Glue (optional)
- A hole punch (or sharp tool for poking holes)
- Recycled items (old bottles, bottle caps, buttons, sticks, plastic lids, beads or anything you want to hang that might make a fun noise!)
1.
Ask an adult to use a hole punch to make evenly spaced holes around the opening of your cup. Four is usually a good number, but you can have as many, (or as few) as you’d like!
2.
Attach recycled items to the strings. You can tie the string around the items or use glue. Leave enough space on one end to attach to the cup.
3.
Tie the string ends so that each is going through one hole in the cup. Then attach a loop of string through the hole, tying a knot so that the string can’t go back through the hole.
4.
Find somewhere to hang your windchime that will get lots of wind, and listen to how it sounds!
